Support Our Food Pantry

The Assumption Food Pantry, founded by the Secular Franciscans of Assumption Fraternity and its principal ministry, is located in the basement of the Father Hayes Center, 130 Second Street, Wood-Ridge, NJ. 
 
Anyone in need is welcome.  The Food Pantry opens on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m.; however, please call the Assumption Parish Office on Tuesday before 4:00 p.m. or on Wednesday morning after 9:00 a.m. to ensure that the Food Pantry stock supports opening.
Donations
Food items (unexpired, non-perishable items) may be left after weekend Masses or at any time in the appropriate bin inside the entrance to the church.  The Parish bulletin lists the weekly items being collected; however, our staples include:
  • Breakfast foods
  • Canned fruits
  • Canned meats, stews, and DAK ham
  • Canned or packaged tuna fish
  • Canned tomatoes and jarred pasta sauce
  • Jelly and peanut butter (plastic jars, please) 
  • Paper towels 
  • Tissues
  • Toilet paper
  • Toiletries

Financial Support is also appreciated for us to be able to purchase needed items, when there are shortages, and to be able to provide gift cards. 
 
Gift cards in the amount of $5.00 each can be purchased from Shop-Rite or Stop and Shop and donated.  They may be put in with your weekly donation or in a plain white envelope marked "Secular Franciscans - Food Pantry" and placed in the collection basket at the weekend Masses.  You may also drop them off at the Parish Office. 
Checks made payable to Assumption Fraternity - Secular Franciscan Order may be put in with your weekly donation or in a plain white envelope marked "Secular Franciscans - Food Pantry" and placed in the collection basket at the weekend Masses.  You may also drop them off at the Parish Office.
